Welcome to the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Biotechnology
Congratulations on your successful application, You are now a student of a 240-year-old institution of Hungarian higher education, Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME)!
This is the starting point of an exciting journey in your life leading to a BME diploma. Besides studies, BME, Budapest and Hungary offer you much more: student life, culture, networking, sport, scenery, culinary experiences, learning an exceptional language ... you name it and you will find it here. You are also welcome to join the student groups, or, for example, benefit from the EELISA Alliance and gain a European perspective.
For international students, moving to Budapest is a big step: the International Mentor Team (IMT) helps you with all the practical issues, get in touch with them (via the link you have already received via e-mail)! While IMT mentors will assist you to get around in the city and BME generally, your Faculty Mentors will ensure you will not miss the opportunity to integrate into the life of the Faculty.
In the first semester (at both BSc and MSc levels), a Study Group Class course introduces you to the regulations of the university, structure of the curricula, showcases of some efficient learning techniques and helps building a community with your peers. Here you can meet weekly with your Mentors, and a professor as well.
Following the recommended curriculum is important to ensure success. The curriculum is planned with (about) 30 credits in each semester. This way the study time in the BSc is 7 semesters, while in the MSc it is 4 semesters. Please consult with your recommended curriculum at the relevant sites.
We are delighted to welcome you to our university, and please reach out if you have questions or need any assistance!
