To-do list 

There are a lot to do to be prepared for starting the semester in September. This is list, which is far from being exclusive, but includes the university-related to-dos and the links, further info (just click). 

  1. getting your visa to enter the country is only the first step. For official steps to stay here, please follow the informative and detailed collection of the IMT: https://www.imt.bme.hu/#admin_steps and talk to you IMT mentor
  2. log in to the Neptun system (you have received the login data in e-mail), verify your personal data and enroll to the studies (online first and in person later). Set you status to active before 17. August if you plan to start your studies. In this case, if you are a BSc first-year student, we register you centrally for all required courses.   3. register to the BME Directory here (2 days after you logged in Neptun first and changed your initial password): https://login.bme.hu/en/admin/  Here you receive your BME ID (used in all authentications at BME including the central computer rooms, online access points, VPN etc)  and can create your official BME e-mail address (xxx@edu.bme.hu) which gives you access to the Office 365 services including Teams. Please use your edu.bme.hu e-mail address for official communication (it does not land in spam) and also set it as your primary e-mail address in Neptun. Make sure you read your edu.bme.hu e-mails every day. 
  4. Open the Microsoft Teams app ( for example, go to the office.com site-> login with your edu.bme.hu e-mail address -> download the app or use it online) and join the Chemical Engineering team with the code qgxde38
  5. register to the Moodle site of the Faculty at moodle.ch.bme.hu. Join the Preparatory Chemistry Online Summer Course with the student registration key: PrepChem2025. This course helps you to prepare for the chemistry studies. It is extremely useful for everyone, including the ones who are already excellent in high-school level chemistry, as you can practice the terms used in English. In optimal case the course is 90-120 hours of work (watching videos, reading texts, solving problems). 
  6. visit the https://alfa.bme.hu/course/view.php?id=3 site and practise for the Mathematics placement test. The same applies as for chemistry: it is not enough to know the basics, you need to learn the English terms and the structure of testing as well. 
  7. join the Facebook group of the chemeng studies: https://www.facebook.com/groups/176468222923254 and also the students' FB group of the year 2025: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1CrDDeu8nz/?mibextid=wwXIfr 
  8. arrive not later than  September 1st, 2025, so you have time and possibility to enjoy the Newcomers' week activities between 1-5 September including the first social events, settle down and prepare yourself for the start of classes on September 8th
  9. On 03. September 2025. at 9:30 a.m. (sharp) in Ch building (enter from the Szent Gellért tér), room 201. the leaders of the Faculty welcome you, and you will have an introductory lecture about the Faculty, services, schedule of the semester, etc. Consultation is also offered. Please make sure you join! For those who cannot arrive in person, upon request online participation will be possible. Please ask for it if you need it.
